Journey through Winton’s mesa country to see a snapshot of an ancient environment and dinosaur footprints from 95 million years ago. Lark Quarry Conservation Park hosts the only known dinosaur stampede in the world with more than 3300 footprints preserved. We enjoy the guided tour of the stampede and after lunch travel onto grazing property to discover the hidden treasures of the vast landscape. Visit the Merton Gorge and be mesmerised by views as far as the eye can see .

Bladensburg Station was one of the original homesteads in the Winton region and is steeped in history. Nowadays the remaining property is a National Park that showcases that history and conserves the rugged beauty of rock formations as well as divers ecosystems found in the region. We visit the old homestead and shearing shed, Scrammy Gorge, Waterhole and Lookout.

Just a short distance out of Winton Rangelands is a jump up area where the weathering edges have formed rifts. We visit this unique area before watching the outback sunset.

A glass of wine supplied at sunset, but you can BYO anything else. We supply the nibbles!

Visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs with the largest collection of Australian dinosaur bones in the world. Hear from their dino-thusiasts about how the bones are surfacing and exposed, and later see the bones and the prehistoric animals they came from.

Tour Includes: The full tour at AAOD - Laboratory, Collection Room, Dinosaur Canyon and March of the Titanosaurs. It will also include morning tea and guided transfers to/from the museum.

We head south from Winton to the unique mining opal community of Opalton - a location on the TV series Outback Opal Hunters.We meet up with our local Opalton guide for a tour of the old town site and opal mining areas before you try your hand at fossicking for opals. Hear how opal is formed, different types of opal and different ways of mining it.

The Dino Dash will take you to Lark Quarry Dinosaur Stampede and return in a morning half day. We enjoy an early morning start, participate in the 9.30am Dinosaur Stampede tour, you'll have time for the 15 min Spinifex Walk, we'll have morning tea, and be back in Winton around 12.30pm. Along the way we provide information on the local flora and fauna, history and landscape.
